Any help for UH LB7 Schrade+ broken spring

Is it round wire, or flat stock?
What size does it need to be?

which is 1.810 inches long (just under 2 inches long) and 0.10 inches in diameter. Some of them are slightly flattened, and some are perfectly round. I have some that are slightly bent at the end as well, but as long as the length is correct, they are all essentially interchangeable. Take a look at these photos:

Well I chipped it but not bad, anybody have the correct thickness spring steel I could buy ?

Again, I speak from personal experience. Bolsters are less likely to be damaged than wood scales.

Brownells.com has some spring stock. Do a search for music wire on the web and you will find plenty. Music Wire is another name for round spring stock.

It happened as I feared the first punch through went fine, I filed the head off carefully as I only came through just over 1/16 and when I pushed back to the other side the head was still on the pin of course, it didn't crack the scale it caused two small chips to raise. This was my fault, maybe I hit to hard, I'm sure no one would notice but me. It sure does make me think of replacing the scales with stag though, that would be pretty and make it my own. My choice to try it that way so no harm no foul.
