Any HkAddicts?

Turns out there are some P7S models making the rounds out there. Might have to grab one.

HK has had it's hooks in me since my army days in Germany when I trained with the German mountain division Feldjaegers. I became really fond of the G3 despite it's weight while trying to keep up with those long striding german mountain troops.

I still have a HK 91 that I got in about 85? I've had most of the other common rifles ( battle rifle category) and right now the HK is the only one I kept. It has it's faults but it works every time like an AK.

It tears up brass, throws them hard enough to really piss off people standing 10 yards from you at the range and kicks especially when shooting higher pressure rounds ( even just hot from the car is noticeable) but it works, and works, and keeps on working.

Oh yeah. You think the AR 15/M16/M4 gets dirty? It's nothing compared to the 91.

I have two of the H&K standard 45s, the ten rounder double and single action models. I bought one, liked it so much I bought a second, and now I can horse around pumping rounds with one in each hand. What amazed me was the Germans actually improving on our old tried and true 45 pistols----which they did!

Roller lockers unite! :D

I keep wanting to like HKs. I went to the gun store last week, fully intending to bring one home. After handling everything they had, I just couldn't bring myself to buy one. I tried the P7, it felt very awkward in my hands. This was one of the versions with the european-style mag release behind the baseplate, which I don't like at all. Pretty gun though. I tried several USPs, and as usual, they just felt blocky and weird to me. I did like the USP tactical .45, but not enough to justify the $1,100 pricetag. And our local LE won't approve any requests for suppressors, so the threaded barrel and high sights won't do me any good.

I ended up walking out with another Glock. :) A 26 this time, with night sights. Glocks just feel right to me. I fully understand why folks like HKs. I think they're cool, they look great, I want to like them. But I just haven't found one yet that "clicks" with me. I think I may end up with a P30 or HK45 at some point.

Oh, and I got one of the new Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 380s too. Very, very cool gun.

My USP .45 sleeps by my side every night. ;)

With handguns it should be and is about the feel in your hand. I actually don't own any Hi handguns for that reason. I own all long guns and SBRs. MP5, SDs, 91,93,94.
