What I like about the DS8 is that although it is of course blade-heavy, it's really not much more blade-heavy than the DS. I'd estimate the balance point in the DS8 to be only around 3/8" further forward.
Means that it still feels acceptably nimble in the hand, but the forward weight would assist a little with chopping.
