When do they usually show up at Wal-Mart?

Any idea what models they'll be this year? Scale material? Finish, etc? Are they always 110's?

Dave- I expect some great intell from you since you infected me with this foolishness:D

Last years were not 110's.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict.....something American made and Something overseas made..... :D

Eye B Sykik!

Wow, that time again already. I have tins from the previous two years. We'll see if the Buck marketing folks hit me in a vulnerable spot again this year! I'm predicting they will.

It's probably already LOOONG decided, but I could REALLY go for a Jigged bone 112????

Please Santa!!! :D

I really like the 112 last year. I have quite a few 110's and the 112 was a breath of fresh air. I would like to see maybe a special 55 or a 111. I don't have a 111, I do have one 55, but I could use another.:)

Unless it's something horrible I'm sure I'll buy at least one at full price, then I'll have to go into vulture mode waiting for the mark downs and driving to every Wal-Mart in the AO to keep track of their inventory for them.

It may be a good thing that I'll be gone for next Christmas, save me from myself;)

wander if a buck elf will give us a clue?
maby if we all ask nice we can get a preview...
please!!!

Academy Sports was really good to me one year. And don't forget that Wal-Mart will price match. Academy had the leather sheaths. Wal-Mart had the nylon ones.

That is true about the nylon sheaths, but these holiday tins can only be bought at Wal-Mart and they are special in some way. Last years 112 had Hoyt H. Buck sig. on it along with "Founder - 1902" and it came in a tin. They also had another tin last year with 2 China made Bucks, they had "Collector's Edition 2006" on the blades.

My fear is they come with just a holiday tin(s) with only made in China made knives. :jerkit:

I will also go out on a limb and predict a fixed blade. But what do I know...

Is this a contest? :p

I'm just hoping it's not chinese stuff.

However, for the die hards like me, it would be a good marketing move to have one of those in a set with an American Buck. That way I may buy a chinese Buck. And I may even like it a little.

It seems like $25 is Wally Worlds magical price point on Buck holiday tins.
So what US made knives would Buck be able put in a tin and sell for $25??

I'll place my bet on another 110 tin and some sort of Chinese slipjoint tin (perhaps green bone to go with last years red??)

Would someone post a picture of last years knife and tin? I am curious because I might have to add that to my list this year.

Thanks.

If you liked the last couple of years worth of holiday knives, you should really like what is available for this year. They should start showing up in Wal-Mart mid-late November.

I bought one of the Christmas 110 tins last year, but the sheath for the knife was so thin that I took it back.

I was talking about the year before when Academy had the 110s at a ridiculously low price. Since I wanted the nylon sheaths, I took the sale flyer to Wal-Mart and got a price match. I bought four at least.

Found the thread: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=375215

That year (2005), I got four 110s for $18.63 each.
