You open just like a traditional folder such as a CASE knife, however, it is easy to open it up one-handed also even without a thumb stud.

I placed my order at SHOTSHOW this weekend and expected delivery date is September according to CRK. Retail is somewhere around $300 as I was told, which means it could be more or less.

This is a very nice pocket folder guys. Truly a nice folder made by one of the nicest knife makers in the industry along with a nice supportive, corteous & informative staff.

FEVERDOC You are 1st on my list my man

Lock?

Maybe a scan of this next to an Umfaan?

Tried to correct a typo and wound up double posting, sorry.

Flipped over it looked like a smaller Umfaan, integral lock and wood on the aft 2/3rds, if I remember correctly. Blade length was a little shorter than the Umfaan.

Nimrod..I thought it was a tad longer than the Umfaan

I could be wrong tho...so many blades we saw...Steel is BG42, integral frame lock..not sure of the wood type..Knowing Chris it might be several different shades possibly, but I'm only speculating. The wood is "inlaid" also.

WHERE ARE YOU ANNE!

That is really nice. Makes you want to get one.

Integral lock (I assume it's titanium), wood inlay, BG-42, slightly larger than Umfaan and a price around $300... did I get it? For comparison, the small Sebenza with wood inlay is $515.
How can it be that cheap? And if it can, then why is small wood inlay Sebenza still so expensive? They are so similar in construction and manufacture, the only difference I can think of (currently) is that the Sebenza could (notice, that I'm not saying that it does) have more expensive wood... but the amount of wood is so small that it really can not account for the price difference. (Need I say that $210 for the wood inlay is quite much... the inlay in ti is done by CNC, so that leaves just the wood and finishing and fitting it as well as polishing the scales... quite expensive when compared to the customs...)

If this is what the price range will be, then I must say that I might indeed own a Mnandi in the future. If it's as much as the wood inlays, then surely not.

Mike, per Hugo, I think only one of us is correct. This could be one of those very rare occurrences where I may not necessarily be right, though I am never wrong.

Hugo.....one thing to remember with Wood Inlay Sebs is that only 60 of the large and small are made each year, hence..you have the collector value involved as well.

Guys, I'd love to see it around $300, believe me! But I doubd it will be that little (see above). Yes, I'm a pessimist in this regard.

Sure the woodinlay Sebenza has collectors value. But I don't think none of us thinks that the collectors value comes only (or mainly) from the limited production... and therefore I would say that the Mnandi has equal (almost, as presumably not limited edition) collectors value. After all, it has all the qualities of woodinlay Sebenza. So why would it then be 40% cheaper? I'm afraid it will be a lot more than $300. But, this time I hope that, I am the one who is wrong!!

By the shadowing, I'd say it looks like an "exaggerated" thumb nick between the spine and hollow grind.

mpayne: I like that it still can be opened one-handed, but is there a pick on the oposite side to make it ambidextrous?
Thanx Jerry

Are the official spec's going to be announced any time soon? Size, steel, lock, availability, price, options, etc??

Hmmm, same thing has been rattling around in my noggin lately as well.
