Hello fellas.....I am new to this sight...but was hoping you could give me the approximate value of a 1985 Gerber Tac II (first production run) knife in great condition. I bought it years back (obviously during 1985) for like $50 or so and was wondering what today's market would place it at. Thanks....

I have one of those myself, good knife until I broke the tip off by accident. Still pretty sweet though, nice feel to it.

Yea....its a good knife....I love the locking sheath....you don't know what its worth do you? And how the hell did you break the tip off of it..?

Only problem I had with the sheath was that it wasn't lefty friendly. As for the tip, I broke it while on deployment during Operation Ocean Venture ('93) while doing some work. Pissed me off, but what can you do? Just stuck it back in the sheath, took it off my LBE, and went back to using my bayonet instead.

Don't know the price for a new one, wish I could help.

Operation what? Are you in the military or something.....or some militia? keep me posted I am curious....thanks

Operation Ocean Venture is a combined arms training exercise that takes place on Viegas Island Puerto Rico every year or so. Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines all having fun... just another training exercise, nothing special.
