At last, the all time favorite Endura in ZDP steel has been released. Any comments on the blade. I am keen to know before getting one.

thanks

The best value on the market for a high performance folder. It outcuts folders costing hundreds of dollars more in many cases. Right now, the ZDP takes a backseat to no one.

If you have to have assisted opening, Ti framelocks, etc, then chose another. My guess is the ZDP will out cut whatever you chose. Regards, Joe

The blade looks like jewelry. Shiny perfection. The cutting edge is symmetrical, even and something to fear. The thumb jimping is substantial and well-placed. The point is sharp without being weak. The 1/2" thumb hole is just the right size for me, big. The engraving and laser etching on the blade are without flaw. The blade finish is mirror-like so fingerprints are easily left.

The ZDP Endura 4 has been on my list for quite some time. I am quite happy with the actual knife. It is the top of the heap user for me. Now, if only I could bring myself to actually use it. Maybe when my waved Endura rusts, busts or corrodes.

All the best,

I did sharpness test -

30 +
40 ++++
50 +++++
60 +++++X
70 +++++++++
80 ++++++

Mediana is between 60-70, Military BG42 has solid 60, however results here is very strange - many tests shows extraordinal sharpness 30-49-50 and there are no any more then 80 like it is only part of Gauss distribution shown - I did additional number of tests because of this, but with same result. Looks like some parts of te blade are very sharp and some exceptionaly sharp.

Thanks, Vassili.

does anybody know if they offer the ZDP Endura with a ss handle? I've been looking but haven't found one anywhere

Quick question. Are these a Sprint Run or are they going to be kept around longer? I vaguely remember reading somewhere that they're regular production but I'm not sure if that's right.

Regular production AFAIK.

Same with the ZDP Delica.

Spyderco must have cornered the market on ZDP steel in order to support regular production. Perhaps most buyers will shy away from ZDP due to fear of sharpening hardened steel. And, this could keep the total ZDP production number low which would act to keep ZDP demand relatively low.
