I saw on their web site under projects to ponder a Lumber Jack pattern. Just wondering if anyone had any info on it or any clue as to what type knife or pattern that is. Thanks a lot guys.

I'm a lumberjack, and I'm okay. I sleep all night, and I works all day.

.....sorry, it had to be said.

Is it this?

Good one, Wayne! I wonder how many of our younger members even know Monty Python? ;)

:thumbup: -and a truly twisted sketch at that. Based on the pattern name/MP reference, I would have guessed the lady's leg knife -in plaid, of course :p

Yep, I'll bet those blades in Noddy's pic are for the Lumberjack.

Kind of off topic but: I am hoping that GEC produces a Railsplitter pattern in the future. I think they just might do it because Bill Howard and Ken Daniels used to work at Queen Cutlery when the Schatt & Morgan Large Congress with Signature Bolsters was designed. (Top knife in attached pic) Looks an aweful lot like the #61 Deluxe. Those two guys were still at Queen when the Railsplitters were designed too.

I don't think the Lumberjack will be a Railsplitter clone but a man can dream.:D

Thanks for the fast replies guys. I'm kinda hoping those aren't the blades for the new pattern but everyone likes something different thats why they produce so many different patterns.

What is Monty Python??? :D

I knows you is old enough to know, Kevin! :D

Sorry for sidetracking, War Eagle. :o Back on topic, it's always interesting to see what new patterns and names GEC comes up with, and to speculate beforehand.

No problem coyote711. Yeah it's fun to speculate on these things but I think Noddy is actually correct and those are the actual planned blades.

War Eagle ...

On GEC's website those would be the blades to be used....and my guess is with those blades the way that they sit that the knife will be either another swell center of sorts or could simply be a Whaler in a Jack configuration...

Thanks Boggs. I guess I'm not really interested in this one then. Oh well they'll turn something new I like out pretty soon.

ummm, I know what monty python is...
Remember the self defence against fruit one?
Back on track- If those are the planned blades, I might get one (if the thing doesn't punch a hole in my pocket)

You wish you'd been a girlie just like your dear papa?

A picture is worth a thousand words...

Back on topic,

I would rather have seen the standard Sunfish in Jack configuration rather than the Whaler. The Whaler is a little over the top for my liking, sort of a caricature of a big rope knife rather than a functional piece.
