Any input on custom pig sticker??

nice rednose pit in that video, looked bigger than the pig itself.

at this point my only question would be, what kind of blade would one would need to kill this pig...

Easy answer. Marlin 1895G with some Buffalo Bore hardcast rounds. LOL

I've made a few and they were all basically large daggers. When you make yours just remember that the blade geometry that works on a thrusting type sword works here as well. Give it enough width & length to cause massive, immediate trauma but is small enough to be wieldy. Give it a handle & guard that will protect your hand when stabbing and enough grip to aid in retraction. (The handle shape of a competition cutter works well.) I tend to like a bit of a hawk's bill on the back of the handle.

Here is a set that I made a few years back. It was forged from W2 and had and ivory handle. When the ivory got bloody it got very sticky and the grip was great. The blade was around 8" long and had a sharpened top edge.

Let the necro-threading continue...

Don't know if you ever made your knife but Daniel Koster has several threads about boar-hunting in his forum and I think he designed at least one knife that he has used to hunt with.
