Just thought I'd see if anyone was actually interested in a full review of the "new and improved" Satu before I went ahead and typed it all out.
Per BladeCommander's suggestion in this thread, http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...p-me-pick-out-the-most-bad-ass-FULL-TI-folder! I have decided to purchase a brand new Grayman Satu in full ti. After doing a little research, I found out they changed a few major things from the original design. I don't have it yet, but I know they corrected the sizing issues with the pivot bushing, so there shouldn't be any blade play, and they use cpm20cv now instead of s30v, which is kind of neat. They also sharpen their edges smooth now instead of toothy, which is also great. I haven't seen many of these "new" style Grayman Satus floating around the forums, and I imagine it's either because too few know it's been upgraded, or because too few know the Satu exists in the first place. For a .210 thick 4.25" cpm20cv blade sitting on two 3/16 6al4v titanium slabs, I thought $390 was a great price considering most of the competition in the same dimensions or larger are $600+. Additionally, none of the other monsters I've seen are made with 20cv... However, whether or not this knife is truly a good alternative to some of it's more expensive competitors remains to be seen. If anyone is interested in a review of this "budget friendly" (i say that lightly) monster titanium folder, I'd be happy to do one when it gets here Thursday/Friday
. (Edit* might be Saturday or Sunday by the time I get around to it. 12 hour work days Friday and Saturday). If not, it won't hurt my feelings if no one cares lol. Let me know what you think.
Below are some pictures I pulled from google for anyone who is unfamiliar with the knife.
