Any interest in individual KnifeMaker forums on here?

I think it would be a great idea for several reasons.
One - Questions that several people ask a knife maker
could be answered with one post rather than several emails.
Two - Those who want too show off their knives from that particular maker could do so in their forum so everyone interested in that particular maker could see them.
Three - I like to cruise knife makers websites to see their offerings but often I don't because I don't take time to search them out unless I am very, very, interested in that maker. Having the knife makers here would make it much handier.
Four - Possibly generate more interest in a particular knife maker because he would be more readily available.

I think its a great idea. I frequent Caffreys forum and so do many other makers.
Dans the Man! Go for it. You have everything it takes to make it flourish.

I think this could be an excellent idea for a couple reasons. One being the ease of checking out a maker, his/her goods and the users in a more pointed fashion. Second, if I like what I see or know someone who might, I have a good place for referral. One more thing, it gives people a place to check on the development of a makers projects, if they maintain their forum. Best of luck on this folks.

I am niether a maker or a gold member so I dont know if my vote counts for anything but it sounds like a great idea.

I'm for it overall. Would it be in the "Makers" area where I look at fixed blade & folders for sale ?

Seems like a great idea to me. Could bring in a little extra revenue for you while providing our awesome knife makers a venue through which they could engage in more intimate dialogue with their fans. Great idea!

If you build it they will come, its a win, win situation. I have a knifemaker forum somewhere else and its a great platform to promote your work and do commerce.

Its not for everyone, you must spend a great deal of time to buiding the foundation and then one must continue to build on it. At times it moves along on its own as folks will post a question and it will spin into something else.

Have I recouped my money......ten fold, its interactive advertisment.

I just paid for my second year and did not even think twice about the money. A 1/4 page ( black and white) add in blade or tactical knives mages are about that much for one issue?

just my 2 cents

I visit other makers site's its great to see what they are up to, if they build something thats really nice, I let them know it.

A great idea and just would like to post a couple makers I have done some business with that may be interested.

I've got a web site that hasn't been up dated in several years mainly because I have to go threw another party which for me is a real pain not to mention I have been contacted by just about every spammer in the land threw it. The only thing I use my web site for is for photo's that I use on the forums. I'm not a big fan of the thumbnail photo's. Would the package you talking about include away to post decent size photo's? If the recurring fee were $100.00 less it would make it even more attractive.

And individual forum is a great way to interact with customers.

I think it would make an excellent addition to an already top notch knife forum. Being able to donate auction knives would make it a little easier on the maker. At any rate, count me in.

Thanks

I would think that the knifemakers could pick a couple of mods to help with their forum so they would not have to do all the work and so it could be a long term effort.

any status on if this will happen?

We have been thinking about increasing our presence and our own forum would be an ideal way to do it. It is a fantastic way to directly communicate with your collectors and educate others who don't know your work. Like Sar, we too have a forum elsewhere, just started a month or so ago and has been terrific for our buisness.

We would sign up.
