Picked this up as a rare find, verified authentic by several people as well as one very well respected member on this site.

Heres what I've been told, its around a late 60's Loveless knife. The sheath while not marked appears to be original through several sources. The blade is not perfect (as you can see from pictures) which eludes to two things, one it has been refinished, or it hasn't, as this was sometimes common to these early versions of this blade. I have a mixed opinion of people Ive spoken with about this. Its has some wear on the bolster which I imagine is from being unsheathed and sheathed so many times.

I can provide more info in private messages or email who has looked at it and their statements.

Asking $5,500 OBO.

We don't do offers here. If you list an item, it must have a price.

Knife Knob here so excuse the ignorance. But, what makes a knife like this command such a price? Quality?, Maker?, Rare? I am guess all three?

Thanks. Just curious.

Good luck with your sale.

Yes, NatureBoy, yes to all. When you coming out of retirement? :)

Now THAT was funny!!!:p

I believe this was made before he moved to Riverside and started using the naked lady logo.
Lawndale is the next city over from me, wish I could find a deal on one of these at a local garage sale or pawnshop.
It's more plausible since he was local, but it will still never happen. :grumpy:

The more popular knife designs he made can go for $10,000+ in mint condition.
So, YES, most Loveless knives can demand prices in the thousands like this one.
I once saw a total beater with a busted tip go for thousands on the bay.

Mr. Flair you may know how to send someone flying into the ropes, but you don't know much about knives . . . ;)

Good luck on the sale athous!

Nope to all three. There is a hidden button on all Loveless knives which turns it into a light saber.
That aside, I think the biggest factor is not quality/rarity but demand. When demand is high and the knife is rare, it jacks up the price.

I don't want to high jack the thread, but he gets a free bump out of it so...........

Flair did sorta come out of retirement. Not as much Flair as he once had. :victorious: Kinda my child hood hero. lol I still cherish the one time I saw him perform live when I was a dumb kid. Now I am just a dumb adult. ha!

That knife is neat. I am new to the knife scene. I learn something every day on this forum. $5k plus knives is one of those things. Hope the OP sells it. I can imagine that there is someone out there who has this on their Grail list.

To me it was a authentic Hinderer XM-18, 3". After reading & saving, I finally scored one a few days ago. I think I like the ability to customize it as I go along. Different color handles, and stand offs and the like.

I see the price of this piece and think transportation!

Good Luck on the sale! WHAOOOOOOO!

Tracked down some more determinate info. Knife is approximately a 68-69 and was possibly a gift for a friend at a nearby machine shop. Have a informal estimate too that I can provide (value far exceeds what Im asking for here).
