So what does the Senator moniker for the 6263 have to do with all these Presidents knives?

a weak google tie in to senator and Ike is
http://millercenter.org/president/eisenhower/essays/biography/3
"Massachusetts Senator Henry Cabot Lodge Jr. began an Eisenhower for President drive in the Republican Party."

Whatever we call it, equal end pen, senator, Ike, its a 6263 (bone), or 8263 (mop), single spring pen with round bolsters that Ike gave away. But in his pocket was a Roosevelt, small stockman in redbone 6333
thanks for the intro Pete. Heres my hysterical hypothesis.

Ike gave away tons of Senator knives, (ties in because), a Senator put him in the White House.

Great promotion on Ike's part to gift MOP Pens. Wouldn't you vote for a guy that gave you a Mop Senator?:-) Id be all, Hey Yeah Im down to vote for you Bro, you da man's man!
