As Knife Makers, we are always looking for ways to increase productivity and accuracy. Most of us do this by developing our own tools. I know I do. There are a few tools that I use constantly on every knife I make and I don't know how I got along without them. I have decided that I am going to start offering these tools for sale. There are three in particualar that I will be offering very soon. I just wanted to get an idea on what kind of interest there would be for these tools.

Carbide Blade Scribe
Solid Steel body with an adjustable depth solid carbide scribe.
The scribe is replaceable.

For you Slip Joint makers I will be offering a Rise and Fall indicator. This tool will allow you to insure that your backspring is perfectly flush in both the open and closed positions. Half stop as well for those of you who grind half stops. This tools features a full CNC milled .325 thick 6061 Aluminum body with a adjustable Stainless Steel back spring slide that will work with almost any size slip joint back springs. It also comes with a Dial Indicator accurate to .001. (.0005 if you want to read between the lines) This tool is made for 3/32 pivots and spring pins.

For Folder makers.
I will be offering a tool that will allow you to hone your barrel pivots and bronze bushings to exact size and keep them square. These will be machined from 01 and hardened. This tool, will also come with .001 shims for fine adjustments.

Like I said previously, I'm just putting out a few feelers to see what kind of interest there is in this stuff. I'm not sure on the pricing but I am still working that out.

The only photo I have is the prototype photo for the scribe.

The Rise & Fall Indicator and Pivot Hone are still in the works. I will post photos and full descriptions once completed.

Thanks for the interest.

I have been looking for an affordable scribe. how much were you thinking that would go for?

I'm still working out the pricing on the scribe. I think they will end up under $30.

Attached is a prototype photo of the rise and fall indicator. I should have these done in a few weeks.
