Any Japanese handle tutorials?

The title says it all. I've looked around but can't find anything other than the tang is burnt in the wood for fitting.

Any help will be appreciated.

Are we talking Japanese kitchen knife handles?

Only ho wood is typically burned in. Others, like ebony and rosewood, are not typically as they don't work as well.

Other than that, what do you want to know?
 
That thread has my standard Japanese handle tutorial. The current Yanagi-ba WIP thread has the start of the handle so far, and I will hopefully be adding the photos this weekend.
