Any knife-events I should be aware of?

Hi all. My last post on the subject of plasces to visit was moved to another forum. Rightly so too.

So, hopefully this one is more on track;

We're flying in to San Francisco on the 7th. of Dec., driving down the coast to Carmel & back over a couple of days, then flying to Las Vegas for a few days (we plan to do somne stuff in the area as well as a casino or 2), and back to San Fran. for the weekend, leaving on the 17th.

So, are there any events or shops in those places where I might expect to pick up some old slipjoints please?

Jackknife et al, thanks for the advice in the other thread.

Cheers
Matt

FG,
If you are looking for specifically older knives then just stop at any antique store, thrift shop, flea market or the rare pawn shop and take a chance that they may have something. I am not aware of any local knife store that sells older slipjoint knives. In fact the market for new slippies is not that large around here.
Not knife related but if you are down in Carmel definitely go to the Monterey Aquarium.

In Vegas, be sure to check out Bond's House of Cutlery. 'bout the only knife store in town. Of course there are plenty of pawn shops. Duh! 3540 W. Sahara Ave., about a mile west of the Strip. Enjoy!!
