as the title states. is there anyone around central ky that offers a class on knife making.

I know one can watch all the videos, read every how to on here, but I believe hands on is the best way to learn.

ty looks like they haven't updated there 2014 classes yet. i guess ill call them after the holidays are over.

If you're interested in forged blades, the ABS gives the best crash course there is. The two week, Intro to Bladesmithing courses. We have them twice a year over in WNC at Haywood Community College.

That single class can put you years ahead, and you'll likely leave with one or two finished knives that'll be far above what you're likely to make in any other similar scenario.

I would love that, but between work and a 1yr old. there is no way I could get away for two weeks.

Gil Hibben has a one week class in LaGrange, KY. Very pricey. And, any follow up help seems to be non-existent. Teddy

yea I seen gils. I thought about it, but at most times I can only get away for a couple days at a time. I would pay just some local maker here in ky to do some one day classes or maybe two.
if I could find one.

You can take classes from Tai Goo, Murray Carter as well.

sorry marty I missed your question. I am in liberty ky. not west liberty just liberty. small town about 60 miles south of Lexington.

I don't know where carter is, but mr goo is a bit to far away.

o I see your in ky marty. Vanceburg is about 150 miles from me. not to bad. you interested in giving some classes.

crank, I know where Liberty is located. I used to pass through there when I drove a delivery truck.

Let me see what my schedule's going to be in the next few weeks. We might just be able to work out something.

Shoot me an email @ rmyknives@localnet.com.

ty marty. looked at your knives very nice work. some of the best looking folders I have seen.

did you ever stop at lees famous recipe or bypass billiards and restaurant there on the bypass?

Never stopped at those places. It's been almost 10 years since I went through there. I always liked that part of the state, the people are really friendly. I got your email and replied.

Happy New Year!

Gil Hibben class is excellent. Taking into consideration that he is legend in his field. The class is not pricey at all! Actually it is the cheapest way u could get a knife from him/you:) Make sure u check back often as his classes tend to sell out in matter of hours :-) He has people coming from all over the world .
I will also try to register for the next year(this year) coming from Illinois ;)

I'm going to look into Gil's class.
I'm lucky to be only 15 minutes from him.

yea I looked at his site. I wonder when he will offer them tho.
I would like to learn from a few different ones.
