Any LEOs Out There?

If your speedometer read over the posted speed limit, you thought you were breaking the law. Even if you were going 34 and your speedometer read 36, you thought you were breaking the law. Try OBEYING the law instead. It cuts down on the tickets a lot (voice of experience).

If you don't like getting busted for speeding in a small, trailer-trash town in Kansas, you are cordially invited to stay out of our state. (This comes from a trailer in a small town in Kansas).

There are good cops and bad cops. I have a lot of good cops as customers.....and I will admit I have had a couple of experiences with bad cops. This guy doesn't sound bad. The ticket sounds over the top, but if he was a professional about it and you were speeding then case closed.
I have fought two tickets before. One was for 3 over the speed limit going downhill.....I thought it was unreasonable. I won. The second was for 16 over....would have lost that one had the officer actually showed up to court.

This guy is doing his job.....no need to stir the pot here.
I may be off the mark here, but your post smacks of the upper middle class to me. The money isn't the issue, the offense of ticketing you is. Your high-end SUV, obviously not a local in such a trailer trash town that you later referred to as "charming". Sounds something like this to me; How dare this backwater cop in a nothing town give me a ticket. I have a perfect record, look at my car. Obviously I am of a better class than these people here.....doesn't he know better? I will make him pay for this.....he doesn't know who he's messing with!

dude you were speeding, pay the ticket and forget it. life is way too short to dwell on something as trivial as a speeding ticket. later, ahgar

Life is unfair.

You can obviously afford to pay the ticket.

You are a crybaby, and your mommie probably indulged your tantrums instead of giving you the whuppins you may've deserved.

"I want to make this cop's life a living hell" . . . for what? Offending your fragile ego? You . . . do NOT have any idea what it is like to suffer injustice.

Internalizing this situation will accomplish nothing but more of what you're already feeling. Stuff happens. If your goal is to clear your driving record then you should pursue all means to accomplish that goal until they're exhausted. If you fall short of that goal then at least you've done your best and should move on to more important things. Life is too short to continually dwell on the negatives.

As for the rest, that's your choice to go down this road. Be forewarned that if you decide to attack someone, anyone, there may very well be a response. If an officer of the court catches wind of what you're trying to do, don't be surprised if a judge wishes to see you.

Judges usually write their requests down on paper and forward them to Sheriff's Deputies. Those guys and gals will often bring that request to your home at odd hours of the night along with a pair of handcuffs. More negatives and really not worth the hassle. Again, your choice.

if you are running other than the stock sized tires it is very easy to throw your speedo off, I know on my corvette the stock size is 225x70x15, the performance size is 255x60x15 or 245x60x15 (which will require a new speedo gear as is is a tad shorter than stock and will cause the speedo to read a couple miles faster than the stock size), I currently run 265x50x15 which is the same height as the 245x60 and same width as the 255x60. I simply went to the dealer paid 10 dollars and put in a new speedo gear, now if my speedo reads 55 I am really doing 53, but this is as close as I can get it. on newer vehicles you can tell the computer what size tire you are running and the computer will make the correction so that what you see on the speedo is correct. So if you are running an other than stock size get your speedo tuned. Bigger tires make your speedo read slower than you are going and smaller tires make it read faster. Pay the ticket and or get your speedo fixed and take it to court with the reciept for repairs as this may get your fine reduced. But hey if you were speeding even one mile over the officer and judge may just make you pay the ticket Which you EARNED. now quit crying and take some sort of possitive action.;)

LOL. I live in another small Kansas town because, IMHO, it is the best place to raise a family in North America. I also spent most of my childhood living in a trailer in southern Arizona!

I can certainly understand how you came to this conclusion.

The truth is that I spent most of my childhood in a trailer in southern Arizona, and saw my parents work their butts off to first put my dad thru college, and later their children. All so we could have a better life.

As an LEO, my father saw what became of misbehaving and delinquint kids, and raised us as "law and order" citizens. I think that 32 years of driving without even a traffic ticket shows that he did a pretty good job.

Having been around the law enforcement community my whole life, I maintain that this particular Kansas town is a Boss Hogg and Roscoe operation. The second sentence out of the officer's mouth was to inform me of the cost of the fine. Go figure.

A friend had a similar incident in Alabama. His infraction cost him $300. The cop made him drive straight to the courthouse, and he was stupid enough to truthfully answer the judge when asked "How much money do you have on you?" :D

..You . . . do NOT have any idea what it is like to suffer injustice.

This is the wisest and most profound thing said on this thread.

Considering it's Christmas-time, and God had to leave heaven and suffer the greatest injustice ever to set us straight, I have no reason to complain. Thank you, shadowblade.

Go to court even with a small town it's points on your license because it'a a moving violation 2 points in Ohio not sure in KS.In Ohio your have to make sure the radar is calabrated every time each shift plus the officer should have gone to radar school.Check your local laws.If it was a lasar your kinda screwed because it's your word against his.Plus there's no flaws with lasar.
Also fined out how much the waiver is because you could pay more for going to court because the judge can fine you what he wants and also you have to pay court costs. So it might just me better to chalk one up for the good guys in BLUE

Do any of you have any additional suggestions? Including how I can legally make this cop’s life a living hell?
So lemme see if I understand this: The subject of this thread is "Any LEOs Out There?" and you want to ask them how to make another LEO's life "a living hell?"
