Are there any liner locks made that incorporate a one piece bolster as in the shape of an upside down 'U' or 'C', as is used on the Opinel?
This design allows the blade to mate with a solid stop when the blade is exposed to hard cutting forces. All liner locks that I've seen (and all frame locks by necessity) rely on a riveted or screwed in stop pin, which can loosen over time.
I would think the incorporation of solid bolster (simple rolled or bent stainless would suffice) would eliminate a lot of slop in folders.
