Any long-term Spyderco FRN knife users?

Just seems like a rinky dink design for a pocket clip for a man wearing jeans, working, bending, kneeling, climbing and such.

If it’s not unique, it’s common. This isn’t a cheap Chinese knife, it’s a legendary American brand and needed to be “rigged” for normal use. If the screw isn’t catching enough meat and eventually lets go, it’ll be useless to me.

I’m hoping for the best, but “hope” really isn’t a plan.

I absolutetely love and prefer wire clips but I would agree that the mold tolerances/screw face needs work.

Or a screw with a wider head that overlaps the wire of the clip a bit more. Or a retainer that is held in place by the screw but overlaps the wire all the way, like the clips that hold metal power steering and brake lines. Or ... OK, I have other ideas too ... but point is, it ain't the FRN, which was the focus of the OP's question.

I only bought Spyderco G-10 in my early collecting days less than 10 times, after I buy strictly FRN cuz they are all users. While I enjoy the feel of material upgrades but I do prefer lighter blade in pocket. After 20 yrs, I see no fault buying Spyderco FRN. None of my blades got wire clip so far. I tend to buy multiple of the same models if I enjoy the design. Once I get comfortable using, I don’t try many new designs. Cheaper to purchase, feel not sorry to use it hard and easy to be replaced without hard feeling.
