Any love for classic multitools?

I really like the original Leatherman for its compactness and light weight.Mine still gets belt time,or rides in my work bag.

I love my LM Pulse. top quality multi tool. Modern LM's like Kick, Blast etc do not IMHO live upto my Pulses quality... but I am not sure if Leatherman Pulse qualifies as classic tool... :)

I would say it's a classic tool. It's my favourite as well. I don't think you can get a better multitool for fishing. It has scissors for cutting line, pliers for removing hooks, a diamond coated file with hook sharpening slot.

My father's old American made Schrade Tough Tool is around here somewhere.

It's interesting to compare it to my Vic Spirit.

The Tough Took is huge, bulky, crude, and seemingly indestructible. My father has darn near worn it out, and it looks the part. It's really a neat tool, though. I wonder what it might have evolved to if Schrade hadn't gone bankrupt.

It'll probably go in a glass case of family heirlooms one of these days.

I don't plan to part with my ToughTool--I've carried it (and used it) daily for at least eight years now. I agree it's too bad Schrade went belly up. I've got a couple Gerbers, an original Leatherman, and a SuperTool and much prefer the Schrade. I will admit, though, that a one-hand opening blade would be nice--but it's not a deal breaker for me.

well they returned my gerber to me usa made plus they gave me a braned new pouch and the small little tool that you need to change the removeable cutters plus last week end I went to the orlando gun and knife show and found usa 600 gerber with the replaceable cutters and they came with the beanch made seat belt cutter too. I had to buy a bunch of them too.

My wife bought me a U.S. Schrade 'ToughTool' 13 years ago; still gets some use, but the blades are very hard to open nowadays.

I carried a small Gerber 400 multitool for a while; it still gets use.
