This is my only clip point model, the ESEE 3MIL PCP.

Anyone else own any of the clip point series?

What is the purpose of the clip point? is it just to stab easier?

Is this classed as a fighting type knife with this point as its double edged?

I bought mine specifically with the thought that it would allow me an edge to use with my firestarter rod that wouldn't effect the main cutting edge.

It certainly does aid in using the knife to puncture or stab something though.

I've been thinking about getting the 6 w/ CP for part of my EDC rotation. I normally carry a large fixed blade paired with a small fixed blade and a folder and the 6 would be nice for when I don't want to carry a Bowie. The CP would be useful for backcuts.

Can't carry them here MI their considered a two edge blade, other wise I'd have one or two of each by now!

Oh really? I've been meaning to make the thread "What ESEE knife to be housed in the Junglas backpack". Glad to hear you keep the ESEE-3Mil CP in the Junglas.

I would like one Clip Point knife.

I'm currently reading this thread and did a search with "Clip point".
I'm leaning towards the ESEE-3Mil CP. Although, the ESEE-6 CP would be awesome too.
Back to reading... :p

Edit: Double sided blades are illegal in my state. This knife wouldn't leave my house. ha.

i like the clip point alot, as tony said it works great for using as a striker for a fire kit, also makes opening up game like having a zipper on their bellies.

I recently purchased the 3 mil with the clip point. I think they are great for smaller blades personally. I wouldn't really want one on a larger blade like a chopper.

Oh really? Care to explain why you wouldn't want the CP on a large blade?
I was reading BF this morning and somebody said their ESEE-6 CP is a great "woods" knife.

Thanks. Yeah, the 3Mil CP is hawt.

They look decent and serve a purpose but they weren't legal for carry in TX and definitely not in Kali.

The first time I ordered a 3-Mil they sent me the CP by mistake. I thought it was kind of neat, but unfortunately they are illegal here in MI.

It seems like it would be difficult to properly baton some wood with the larger CP blades.

I own the 3 with the CP, but everything else is single-edged.
