Any love for the Clip Point models?

Cricket Dave, love the 5 scales on that 6.

Gotta love NH knife laws. The only thing restricted now is blackjack, slung shots and metallic knuckles. Can open carry or conceal any size knife with any type of blade.

Wow. If their alcohol laws are modest.. I'm moving! :p
I think Texas has OK alcohol laws.

The State liquor stores are located along the highways at rest stops.

We have strict drunk driving laws, but it still cracks me up that the liquor stores are located along the highways...things that make you go WTF?

:D

Hell, I'd move to NH in a heartbeat from Oz if I could.

Getting a clip point is a wee bit difficult here, but i want two, one ESEE-4 and one ESEE-6 with clip points.

Cricket Dave-

Did you have to modify those 5 grips to fit your 6?

What advantage does the 5 grips give over the 6?

They look decent and serve a purpose but they weren't legal for carry in TX and definitely not in Kali.

are you sure? i had always heard, from other members, that CA cutlery laws basically mirror FL's. i was under the impression that CA had NO LAW stating what type of knife could be openly carried. is this incorrect?

it still blows my mind that there are ANY states where one can be told what type of knife to carry. never knew how good i had it, til i started readin here.

as for the CP's, IF i get another ESEE, it'll be a 6CP. i might not, though, i have a touch of 'cheap knife fever' and am eyeing a Gil Hibben Karate Fighter :D

I get a 6cp few days ago. A great knife, not so big but still a serious blade. Good slicer, good for games and not so heavy and still ok for batoning: what else.

I hear ya. When I lived in Texas, I could carry up to a 5-1/4" fixed blade concealed.

Just waiting for my HEST folder. And can't wait for the Izula folder to come out.

i like the clip point alot, as tony said it works great for using as a striker for a fire kit, also makes opening up game like having a zipper on their bellies.

I don't know why but I like your ESEE-6 ALOT better with the tan ESEE-5 grips???????

Did you switch them out?

hi guys, sorry to be so slow to respond to questions.

i swapped out the grips with a 5 fits just fine with no mods at all, not a perfect fit but very close. i like the canvas better than the linen and i wanted the bowdrill divot on the 6 since its the knife i carry the most. i just like the look and feel of the canvas micarta the most.

as for the clip point i use it mostly as a fire striker and i have had no problems battoning wood with it, does chew up the stick your whackin the blade with but so what its going in the fire too.

i'm getting ready to pick up my first esee and am pretty much sold on the esee 3 mil, can't decide between the standard blade or clip point. is the tip much thinner with the CP? any need to worry about it breaking any easier than the standard blade?

Two things brought about the Clip Points:

1) A federal law enforcement agency that is assigned to various parts of the world wanted our 3 but with more penetrating power. Mainly because where they go they don't have country clearance to carry a fiream. So, we did that for some agents and made it part of our line.

2) The 6 came about from a hog hunting outfit in Alabama. The hunt wild hogs with dogs and aknife. Nothing else. So they wanted more "sticking" power on the knife.

I realize that # 2 will cause more of the hog killing jokes but it's true.

The old boy that killed the hogs in TX with the Junglas didn't need no stinkin' clip point though!

I havent got a clip point "yet" but it may be my next purchase. Now which one will it be, i havent made up my mind yet... More decisions! lol:D

Thanks for the information.

I was sold out of all the regular blades for some time and just had the 4 and 6 with clip points in stock so a few customers said ok send them. They got back to me and said they LOVE them, actually a bit better then the regular blades. Since then for reasons unknown I have been selling more 4's and 6's with the clip point than the other. Personally i can't have them in my state, but I do like em better myself.

The ESEE 6 CP has become my overall favorite blade I currently own. Kind of want to get a regular 6 to compare it to.

Clip point is my favourite..I would love a junglas in clip point also if they came out.
