Any love for the moose?

Well...that's awful generous
But I am in no position to pick one up anytime soon (unless I can score a trade somewhere)
But thank you nonetheless

Bikerector, which way would you do it, leave the spear and mod the clip or the other way around?

I like the looks and fine point of the clip, so I would grind the spear point like your 2nd example.

However, I wouldn't be against keeping the spear either, especially one with a swedge like the NF's have.

I like the GEC 82, if I have that correct, I‘ve seen Corto Malt’s with micarta in the coffee thread. Long clip blade and a shorter second blade. A dixie possum skinner?

I recently acquired a 1988 Winchester Black Box 2913 1/2, and I see that a few other folks on this thread also have one of these (including a couple pictured above on this page). At 4 1/4", it is a substantial knife, and has some real heft to it. I was curious to see how it compared to the Moose pattern depicted in Nessmuk's "Woodcraft" (published 1900). Interestingly, this Winchester bears a striking resemblance to the Nessmuk Moose. Nessmuk himself notes: "The strong double-bladed pocket knife is the best model I have yet found, and, in connection with the sheath knife, is all sufficient for camp use." Here are a couple of photos, including the drawing from "Woodcraft" for comparison purposes.
