I realize it was a forum knife, but I don't really see a lot of guys posting pics of theirs. It's near the top of the list for my next GEC, so lets see some pics and tell me what you think of yours:thumbup:

The 2012 Forum knife has taken over for my EDC knife. It has been in my pocket ever since I got it. The wide thin 1095 steel blades are a pleasure to use, they glide thru it's chores. The frame fits great in my hand, and is very easy to maneuver. I love the blade choices. I field dressed, skinned and fleshed the hides from 2 Elk with it this past hunting season and it preformed perfectly!
I liked this pattern so much I ordered 1 with Autumn leaf bone but the blades are ground differently than on the forum knife.

Interesting, the forum knife has full height grinds on the main blade, and the regular production doesn't......I prefer the forum knife not only appearance wise ~ but because of the way it would cut. Bummer.

Jim, Those two in stag look wonderful my friend. But you always get
the good stuff! You hoarder...lol. ;)

....well if I dont get my BF version back form GEC repair I may have to get another. I miss it. It was my EDC from day one of receiving it.

Agreed, I think you'll find only the Northfield line of #74's have a saber(?) grind, the Tidioute line have FFG. Still, the grinds on the Forum knives are very nice from the pic's I've seen.

I really like the frame shape and am holding out for some other blade combinations....

I have Tidioute version,and i love it,
it is in my pocket ever since i got it, and i use it daily, broken tip on wharncliffe blade was stupid mistake but easily repaired.
i have some other GECs on wish list and another saddle trapper (Northfield version) is one of them.
Still hoping for single clip, and wharncliffe with same handle. :D

If it's been a while you should shoot Chris a friendly email reminder.

Love the look of that acrylic Rinos! I'm waiting for the clip version of the Boy's knife for my next one, but I'm really liking this knife too. Love the grind on the forum knife. Doing some home improvements and it's digging into my fun money:( But, money can be earned many ways and I'd hate to miss out on buying a new knife that pops up;)

I also bought the Tidioute Autumn Leaf bone version (thx Mr. Andrews/Old Hundred :)) a little bit after my 2012 arrived and I realized I didn't want to muck it up. It was between that and the Northfield cocobolo one for me, but I choose the one that most resembled the forum selection (i.e. the aforementioned grinds)
It has easily become the go to carry knife for me except when I'm at work and use/abuse a beater.

obligatory crappy cell phone pic (just a link so as your not blinded by horrid pic of great knife:) )

the 2012 forum knife was my first GEC -- and rode in my pocket every day until I won a GEC swayback jack in a very generous contest a few weeks back. The slightly smaller SBJ pockets easier at the office.

I have a Northfield in Autumn Gold jigged bone, which is beautiful. I haven't carried it yet. Their random jigging has become my favorite.

Wow, Mamba, that is a beauty for sure, I love that random jigging...... I also want more 440c knives. I love the steel, and stainless is much better for my current job as I am working with various salts, peracetic acid, phosphoric acid, hydrogen peroxide, etc.
