Any love for the Three Stooges?

I must admit that I've seen nearly all, if not all of the short films they made. No matter how many times I've seen them or how predictable they are, I'll laugh every time. There are quite a few routines and one-liners that get me every time.

The episode (Idiots Deluxe) where the three of them go bear hunting to ease Moe's nerves. The bear is shot and put in the backseat of the car, but isn't dead. He wakes up and the three stooges jump out of the car leaving the bear alone in the car. The camera quickly pans to the car speeding away and then you see this:

Another episode (Horses Collars) the three are private eyes hired to reclaim a land deed from a damsel in distress. Upon meeting her in Wild West type saloon they introduce themselves. The woman frantically asks," are you good detectives?" Then Curly, with chaps and boots on leans back and puts his foot on the table and says," you see that heel? I ran that down!"

When I was a kid my dad was a trucker for a few years and I would ride with him for some Saturday shifts. We'd get home at about midnight and needed to relax before bed. One of the tv channels played the Three Stooges at midnight on Saturday so we'd watch them to unwind. I thought they were hilarious then and still enjoy them now.

I totally forgot about that episode (microphonies) The part when the guy pictured in the youtube video looks into Moe's eyes is funny. The guy gets right into Moe's face and Moe says,"oh, short eyeballs..."

This is also the one where Curly becomes the homely Madame Cucaracha.

SOITENLY! NYUK NYUK NYUK!

One of the things on my list of necessaries for the woman that I marry: MUST like the 3 Stooges. Seriously. My wife likes the Stooges.

Moe Larry Cheese!

My mistake. I thought this thread was about Charlie Mike, Thomason and Kurrupted. Maybe I've been hanging out in Whine and Cheese too long....

"How do you want your eggs?"
"Sunny side down, and don't turn them over!"

"Sunny side down, and don't turn them over!"

"I'll have eggs and toast."

(Moe yelling to kitchen)-"Adam and Eve on a raft!..."

"Scrambled."

(Moe yells at Curly in the kitchen again)- "wreck'em...."

Heck yeah!

Starting when my son was born we started buying the Sony re-issue DVDs with totally restored sound and picture, much better than the copies most of us grew up watching on television. We're well into the Shemp years now.

I find it fascinating that modern kids are still laughing out loud at comedy skits from eighty years ago. Probably still will be a hundred years from now too.

Some of the best skits were the from the early Larry-Moe-Curley team, but Shemp might be the funniest one individually.

Wife hates Three Stooges...

"Quiet. Quiet! Quit stomping around."

How about the one where the three stooges go to the jungle to film a movie when Curly dresses like a gorilla. He comes out of the movie trailer with the gorilla suit on and smoking a cigar. Then he jumps and clicks his heels.

Grew up on the stuff thanks to my father, we had my grandmother record them (we didn't have cable) and she'd put them on VHS tapes. We had 3 main VHS tapes we used full of 3 Stooges. Now that they're releasing volumes on DVD my dad can get them on DVD, he's building up the collection that way. There are probably some I haven't seen, but I've seen a ton of them. They'll never get old, for us.

My grandmother hates them too but my dad loves them so she recorded them on VHS tapes for us, using her cable service... when she got a full tape she'd send it along. I grew up in the 90s and love the Stooges.

Comedy legends, dude! I don't trust anyone who doesn't like the Stooges. :D I have pretty much all their stuff on VHS or DVD. In fact, one of my other hobbies is electronic music, and when I got my first sampler back around '99-2000, the first thing I did was sample in a bunch of Stooges stuff off videotape. Hit one key on the keyboard: NYUK! NYUK! NYUK! Hit another key: SOITENLY! Hit another key: WOOB WOOB WOOB WOOB! :D:thumbup:

" I don't trust anyone who doesn't like the Stooges".
Words to live by G.S.H.
I grew up with and still use the vocabulary. i.e., "drop the vernacular". "That's a derby". ( Disorder in the Court)

"Say Jasper, what comes after 75?"

"Uh 76..."

"Haha,that's the spirit"

Larry and Curley shooting down Moe, who has floated away:

"Don't you know any better than to use a rifle? You might miss. Here, use this shotgun."
