I think the knife probably has some merit to it, the designer himself is a smart guy who knows some things about bushcraft, whatever else you may think about his stories and adventures.
However, my personal impression and the reasons I wouldn't buy one, are as follows:
* The knife tries to do too many things, and in doing that, it becomes sort of too complicated, and ends up doing none of them super well. To me, those compromises aren't worth it. Better to just have a simple knife that works well at traditional knife tasks, and then use that to build the other tools you may need.
* The knife is way, way too heavy. That's a personal bias, but I just don't like ANY knife of the type that you'd carry on your belt that weighs more than about 16oz, and really, I strongly prefer something less than 8 oz!!! The tracker is more like carrying a small axe, weight-wise.
