I'm on my way to Ottowa today for a couple of weeks for work, so I figured I'd check here to see if there are any makers around that way who'd be interested in getting together to talk knives for a bit.

Do you mean "Ottawa" as in Ontario, Canada? I suspect you do.

Have a look at the Canadian Knifemakers Guild site www.ckg.org , under Members, will give you a list of all members by province.
