Any new fixed blades in the 2009 lineup?

This "Whiplash" looks kinda cool, but those super deep thumb grooves at the top and the handle with para cord arrangment does not look like it would suite me. I am not crazy about the steel either. If I would even consider buying one it would be out of curiousity and that Kershaw quality at a low price.

I think I am not understanding something about this knife. How does a coating, which is not on the edge, increase edge retention?

I like it pretty well, I do not care for the huge thumb serrations/grips, but I cold live with it. I do not usually go over 4" or so for blades, but I bet the price is appealing enough to go for it. What are we looking at here, only about $40 or so?

This "Whiplash"...it's made in China, I assume? (No "Made In USA" text in the pdf)

That would be my guess, considering the 8Cr14 steel.

I'm guessing $ 35 to $ 45, depending on the dealer.

I'm looking forward to trying one of these. At this price point, you really can't go wrong!

I can't get to the link now (its on one of the other computers), but from what I gathered it was close to AUS 8, and is run 57 to 59. I've read that Benchmade used this steel in some of their red box knives.

I have no problem with it if its run as I've read.

Besides, all it in heats treat! :D
