Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if Spyderco is planning to release any new waved models in the future. I have a waved Endura and Rescue and I love them to bits. They are awesome. I really like the wave feature but I'm less thrilled about the way Emerson pulls it off and their knives more generally. If anybody has any information to pass along, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

I haven't heard of any, but surely there will be. Still greatly injoying my E4W!

I like the wave on my Emerson CQC-14.. What do you like about the Spyderco wave that makes it better than the EKI wave??

the notch is quite a bit larger on the spydies, and most feel it grabs and opens with more consistency.

it does work very well, but i haven't had my eki waved models fail to open when waved.

The price? :D

If i hadnt come across mine that was used, but LNIB for less than half the new price, I wouldnt own one.. It was my first semi high end folder.. Didnt realize how nice a tacticool folder could be.. I had a couple FRN (yuck!!) Enduras before, and this is heads and shoulders above them.. Im going to try a Mili or Para and see how one of those compare to the EKI.. Hell, I only live about an hour from the Spyderco factory.. I need to just go there..

I like the roundness of the hook. It's soooooo smooth. And I can get it to work 100% of the time.

I have the opposite problem with mine.. Its hard to draw the knife without opening the blade.. I use the spine of my EDC's to open beers anyways, so that function of the wave really doesnt matter to me.. I really need to go get my hands on a waved Spydie though.. They look sexy..

To me, the prices are certainly more attractive. Also, the larger and rounder shape of the Spyderco seems to do less harm to my pant pockets. Finally, I actually prefer FRN over G-10 in most situations since it does less damage to my pants and has a more "tool" looking appearance, rather than G-10 which I associate more with tactical knives. It might be just my imagination with that last point though...

I've never played with an Emerson. For some reason the P'Kal seems more reliable to open than the regular waved Delica/Endura.

I want a waved tip up framelock mili... and a pepsi;)
