Any news for Shallot?

Hi,

It seems no update regarding Shallot for a long time, could anyone tell something about it? Any will be in next variation(Blade/handle material...) and by when?

The current offerings are:

1840 plain
1840ST part serrated
1840CKT black
1840CKTST black serrated

I believe all of the models are currently shipping.

Haven't heard of anything else yet.

Hello prs, Thomas mentioned a few months ago that the Shallot was up for a sprint run this summer. A composite blade, possibly 13C26 and ZDP and a TI frame were being considered.

Knowing that Kershaw is switching to 14C28N in January 2009, and with all the other limited editions they've got out now, I have no idea when to expect it. But the 14C28N being exclusive to Kershaw, and the work they and Sandvik have put into it, it will be worth the wait.

ZDP/13C26+ZDP w/ TI frame are much attractive to me, I'll be hopping to have one this summer! Wish it'd not be long for wait. :)

Still contemplating a LE Shallot. Nothing scheduled to date.

I should add that there have been customer requests for a Damascus Shallot and a Ti/solid ZDP variation as well. Thoughts?

Since we already have a Mini Cyclone TIZDP, and a Leek TIZDP, natural progression suggests a Shallot TIZDP.

When will they be ready? :D
 
I agree with the titanium framelock and the composite ZDP, or solid ZDP would also be fine.............just make it a titanium framelock!
 
Solid ZDP with with a 3-D machined Ti frame, and one of the interesting finishes that Ti allows for.

That's my ideal shallot. Frame Lock. I'd snatch this up as soon as it comes out.

I'm on the waiting list.
 
I'd like to see a upgraded model with just the blade changed like they did with the Blur. A S30V model on the same frame at first before going all out with very expensive upgrades like Ti Framelocks & ZDP. No offense but the economy & gas prices are hitting me pretty hard now. The Shallot is a great platform for upgrades & sprint runs though. Joe
 
As long as you've got a little bit of CPM S110V laying around how about a few Shallots with some of that?

Or at least a composite blade with an S110V edge so we can get a little taste.
 
I'm definitely going to purchase a Shallot at some point.
I love the Leek I picked up, but I'm not too fond of how heavy the steel handle makes the Leek feel.
I'm hoping they put out a Shallot with an aluminum or titanium handle, G10 would be a nice touch, too! (literally)
