Any news for Shallot?

How about good old S30V and a grippier handle like G10 in green or brown If thats possible. I know everybody's calling for ZDP or better but I bet no one would complain about S30V and it would keep the cost a little lower which would make everybody happy.

This knife would be a great platform to do some of the variations like the blur has seen. Ie, different blade steels, scales, colors.

Edit: Oh yeah Damascus blades ++

I'd like to see a ZDP, S30V, or both, and a different blade shape; drop point, something "Leekish", or Random shaped. I've always advocated a larger version of the Leek, and the Shallot is it, I just don't like the current blade shape.

Knowing that Kershaw is switching to 14C28N in January 2009, and with all the other limited editions they've got out now, I have no idea when to expect it. But the 14C28N being exclusive to Kershaw, and the work they and Sandvik have put into it, it will be worth the wait.

14C28N/CPMD2 or 14C28N/ZDP or 14C28N/SG2. A proprietary steel with a high grade edge that no one else is even attempting to make. Use a distinct pattern like the JYD2CB with handle materials to keep it in the same price range as the JYD2CB. I really like the idea of the high grade unique technology being offered at a price that more than just knife knuts will take notice to. People at work who would not normally spend more than $35 to $50 on a knife really like my JYD2CB because of the unique technology and think it is well worth the price.

Ti frame and S30V blade gets my vote.

Really a Ti frame and any high quality blade steel would appeal to me.

I don't have a ZDP or a composite blade, so that would be tempting. While I like G10, I'm not sure how well that would look on the Shallot, but I'd be happy to find out. Or maybe CF handles with S90V blade.

I think they will all sell, because at heart the basic Shallot is an excellent design. :)

Really? I love that blade. I especially like that it reflects its "Dead Sexy" heritage in the blade shape. :)

S30V or 154CM blade
G10 Handle, SS liners
with a lockback.

I think the torsion would be more than strong enough to lock-up.
Hey, it could happen, right?
