I just read an early post about Rob Criswell. Has anyone heard if he is able to work again? Thanks.

What happened to him anyway? I noticed that he hasn't been at the Blade show for the last couple of years.

According to the Plaza Cutlery website his health is better and he is making some swords but apparently not full time and he may stop alltogether. I have one of his 31" blade Katana's and it is a beauty and has the best balance I've felt on a sword, very happy with my purchase on that.

Rob is indeed making swords again. They won't be found at Gun Shows anymore, tho', only at cutlery stores. He plans to make as many as 30 each month, at the most. Try calling Hawthorne Cutlery at 503-234-8898.

I have one of Rob's 4" drop point hunters with micarta from (maybe) the 50s with an ATS34 blade so darn hard I had to buy a diamond sharpener just for it. Needless to say I use the diamond for everything now. I called Rob and he offered to sharpen the blade exactly how I wanted it for no charge. That was a couple of years ago. Good luck.
I do hope Rob is healthy. He was cetainly a gentlemen on the phone.
