Approximate planned release dates and such? Been a long time since we heard anything about it now. I'm really looking forward to this knife. The Cara Cara 2 and Military 2 seem also very interesting

I was praying it would make it in May so I could pick one up for my birthday.

If it comes out in the fall, that is kind of bittersweet. I'll be able to pick up a Sage 2 now and save up for the Para 2 later. The problem, however, is that money kinda gets tight around the holidays and I know I'm going to have to get a Para 2.

Oh well. :p

Sell 1 to buy another.

I can relate, believe me. What I do is sell a regular production knife if I need to finance a newer one. It works out pretty well too. Life is hard, full of these tough choices lol.

What exactly will be different in the Military 2 and Paramilitary 2?

My brief search didn't turn up any info.

I don't think there have been any pictures of the military 2 yet, other than the pictures that can be seen on the patent page with Sal's new lock design?

I didn't see that you were talking about the military vs the para, I thought you meant the para vs the para 2, don't think I was much help! :D

Oh no, not at all. I just wanted to know the differences within model (old vs. new). I handled the current Para and the handle didn't work for me. The military handle is fantastic, but the blade is just a tad big for my EDC needs. If the para 2 handle is a little more military like...then it might replace my military .

YEEESSSSSSS. Very Nice. Knocking off that square tang that's exposed when closed is a nice aesthetic improvement as well.

The lock on the Para is still a bit weird to me though. Last time I handled one, I just couldn't get used to it on the spot. Might be just because I'm used to operating an edge-side liner lock. Will have to give it another try. Definitely going to put aside some money for the Para2.

Thanks for the video Mongomondo :thumbup::thumbup:

The compression lock is different to a liner lock, but there are ways of operating it perfectly with either your right or your left hand. It's only a matter of getting used to it.

Yes, I'm sure I'll get used to it after a while. It's just annoying when your hands are conditioned to move a certain way to disengage the lock on a knife and close it in one or two smooth motions...and then have to learn new movements for a different type of lock.

I'm dissapointed Spyderco don't announce any Para2 release date, I'm waiting for this knife about 8 months now and still nothing...
