Any news on the Para-Military 2?

I'm dissapointed Spyderco don't announce any Para2 release date, I'm waiting for this knife about 8 months now and still nothing...

Yeah it is frustrating but I don't know is Sal knows when he's going to release it yet.

I wish Sal would just release it sometime this summer, the knife would be put to hard use since theres more to do outside like camping and what not.

Spyderco stopped giving estimated release dates on knives because some customers were freaking out and getting upset when Spyderco had a delay and did not make the speculated day. The new para looks like it will be a great folder and well worth the wait! :D

I'm really psyched about this blade. Can't wait till I can get my hands on it.

The wait for this knife is killing me....everyday I check the forums and online stores if they have it in stock. Now I am having thoughts of just buying the first PM and sometimes other knives, like Benchmade!! urghh I should just find something to preoccupy myself lol, I'll probably regret it if I buy another knife besides the PM2..:(

I am waiting for the para 2 as well. My biggest concern is that I also want the Caly 3.5. what to do??

I check everyday too. I want one so bad! I want blaze orange g-10 and any blade steel besides S30V--I love S30V but I already have 3 Paras with it.

I like the new handle shape better and a slightly longer blade is nice too. I'm looking forward to this one. And the PPT.

The improvemrnts are all great but I'd personally prefer it if it had stayed right-hand tip-down only but the additional holes aren't too aesthetically displeasing. I've always liked the right-hand tip-down feature (my prefered carry configuration) of both the Para and Military. Oh well, I'm sure it will help Spyderco sell more which will hopefully mean a lot of runs in different colors and blade steels. :D

Yeah, I'm left-handed, so I naturally disagree.

It's just the same, just a little longer, how can it be blah?

It may not be a whole lot, but elongating the blade changed the geometry. The cutting edge looks longer, and there is more overall blade sticking out of the handle. If you look closely at the video, you can see the angle of the spine declining to the tip is different. It appears to be a lot more gradual. It looks like the edge grind (or belly) is different too. The blade width looks wider as well. These may be subtle, but to me they are pretty obvious and its enough to totally turn me off. I dont think its just because the para 2 is being compared to a black bladed para either. (black tends to make things seem smaller) Im comparing my Paras (satin blade and black blade) to the one on the video and it just looks totally different to me. I dont know the specs on the proto blade or if they're out there, but they will tell the tale of whether or not my eyes are playing tricks on me....I dont think they are. :D

It looks very promising to me. I like a lot of the refinements and improvements as this one looks more thought out to me. I liked the size of the original just fine though and felt that was one of the benefits to it. Also, I still kind of hope (had hoped) to see a ATR style frame lock in the P-2 but I guess not. Would be pretty much the Holy Grail though if and when IMO>

Don't be too disappointed with no release date guys. I'd rather they hold off on saying anything than to give a date and then have it fall through. Some things are better off just bringing out when it is time. As they say, let go and let God. If you try to push it you end up fighting the universe to try to get it done and thats when things fall through the cracks.

I like the beefier build quality and overall look of this new model. Look forward to seeing how it gets reviewed. One question though. Is the original being discontinued or are both still going to be available?

Sprint runs, baby. Sprint runs.

This new Para II is a must have Spyderco...at least for me. I believe the changes are significant improvements. I'm looking forward to seeing if it feels as good as it looks.

I've been through the Spydie love thing and have settled down with a Mini-Manix, Para, Sage I, and Sage II. But the Para II and Caly3.5 will most certainly be in my EDC rotation as soon as they are available. Nice knives those two.

Forgot to ask, but has blade steel been announced on the ParaII and Caly3.5?
I'm assuming S30V and VG10 respectively.
