Any of you manly-men ever keep a journal?

Never keep a journal. Things written down can come back to haunt you if it's read by the wrong person. If it ain't written down in your own writing, you have deniability.

I can see the point to that, but I try to stay out of trouble to begin with.

I have often wondered what the reaction would be if my children discovered my journals after I am gone? Would it be interesting reading?

I used to hafta do a lotta travelin for work and when you're in a 3rd world country for a few weeks ya gotta do somethin' so when I traveled I kept a travel journal of where I went, what I did, how I felt, then when I got home my family could read it.

Also I write, a lot, I write songs, stories, poems, quotes, ideas I have or things I need to address or do.

I have pads, papers, envelopes, napkins, even the borders of newspapers with my thoughts and ideas, my poor wife can't throw out anything that has my writin' on it, even if it's on an evnvelope that's 30 years old, (I have some poems I started 30 years ago and have just recently finished them.

There's nuthin' wrong with a journal, just keep in mind that eventually some one else will read it,

I have kept a hunting journal for the last 10 years. Mostly where I went what I took with me and what i shot. It is nice to look back and remember what it was like and helps me not forget some of the eqipment I use. I bring it out at deer camp and my buddies page through it. They say it keeps my stories straight as to how far away the deer really was. I also started adding small pics of the game.
