Any one getting or giving any OKC products this X-mass?

For me I'm giving away an SP-8 to sis to complement her SP-53 (She decided it was hers after a year of "Borrowing" it :D ) and well some times you need a chisel and such and her husband can finally do some literal wood working the hard way. ;) (Yes I keep an SP-8 around)

Brother is getting an RD Tanto...really if I don't give ONE away I'll have 5 of them... Its to go with his RD 6 I gave to him. And a SP-10 maybe, he appreciates the aesthetics of knives but also likes to USE them and is very good at using them. The SP-10 is a great all round woods tool and looks cool!

I'm getting myself an RD6 so I have atleast 2 and well the new RAT 7 might go to little brother again as well he's more skilled at the use of knives than I am for Slicing and production of things with them. Really a RAT 7 is very addictive when handling it. A friend got one after borrowing mine, he was thinking ESEE 6 but well people around here get the most affordable that can do the job. The RAT 7 proves the more affordable choice of the two. I will always keep a RAT 7 around.

Just ordered a Rat 2 thanks to a gift card I received. Still awaiting the release of the Rat 2 in D2 steel, but with the gift card, my AUS 8 Rat 2 cost under $10, so no brainer!

Giving an rtak2, and a tak1 mod to an old pal, gave a Cerberus fixed to ex-wife, brother got a rd6; The xm1-d isn’t Ontario made but rather branded, gave to 2 brothers, and brother in law. That’s probably not all-inclusive, as there were some pretty good sales this year!

Oh yeah there are some great sales! I got two RD Tantos, an RD 6, SP-8, RAT-7 and another SP-53 this holidays. Several going as gifts though.

Definitely! At least 1 site still had the sp53 for $45, I paid almost twice that for mine when I originally bought it!(2 or more years ago)

Standard nylon? black sheath with the two top straps. It works and its slimish for the big blade.

Just got back from Sis's, she loved the SP-8! She's been snarling at them pine trees that had been invading "HER" field she and grand ma planted their garden when we were kids. I let X-mass tree "Poachers" do some holiday tree massacres there, but plenty enough vegetative invaders to hack down. Her husband made the mistake of saying "But you already have that other knife..." (The SP-53 she pilfered from me). Now he gets to spend more quality time with his wife as she goes on a botanical murdering Maraudering Rampage using tje one she's not using. :D

Unless the knife really demands something else or the sheath is a major component of the package, that's pretty much what you can expect going forward. We like high quality sheaths too, but what we were finding is that, because we try to keep our knives inexpensive, in some cases the cost of what we were making was mostly sheath. I'm still kicking the idea around of making some add on sheaths, handles, etc available, but if people are going to come to us for low-cost workhorses, we're going to make sure that, at least on your initial purchase, you're paying mostly for the knife.

The only time I was disappointed was when I ordered a second Cerberus(for$15 less than the first) and was expecting the great quality kydex sheath that came with it originally! Oh man, had I forgot to pay attention to the description! But for the rest, it was a definitely worth the cost savings. I tend to generally buy aftermarket sheaths anyway. The rtak2 is probably my most often used and appreciated Ontario knife, and I would love to one day find one with a high Sabre grind..

OK I relooked in my knife boxes and the sheaths were upside down making me think they were the black nylon ones as I only opened them to check the blades and saw the sheaths bottom side up thinking they were like the others. They are the newer sheaths.

On the new sheaths...well they work for the bigger blades fit wise. But the snap that goes over the hilt gets unsnapped when you walk in the brush or some thing hits the strap I find. Even on the RD ones to.

Only plus side is the sheath for the SP-8 is better than the original one. Still the front snap coming undone is annoying.

I wanted to test out the new toys...er TOOLS seeing how the new sheath works.

Got an OKC EOD Karambit, this Christmas. I also got two trainers that are dead on replicas of it.

I am still new to the karambit thing but catching on fast (especially seeing as how the school I train at already works a lot of reverse grip).

Oh been looking at one but I'd cut myself trying to use it more than a cutting knife.

Oh yea, she's already given me the first "Blade Kiss". I don't call them cuts, as I like to think of them as more of a bonding experience, like a little pitbull puppy chewing on your hand. I was impressed how deep a little "slip" can go, with that blade style. It did exactly what it was supposed to :)

I got an Sp-15 that had been in my Wish List for a couple of years. I plan on modding it a bit and crafting a new sheath for it.

I've got a birthday coming up next month. I'm thinking of going a bit bigger. I'm thinking a Freedom Fighter or Chimera would fit the bill.

I love my Ontarios. I've had a SPAX in my trunk since I was 17. It's saved my bacon on more than a few occasions. 20 years and 6 cars later, the SPAX still does the job.

Depending how generous you can be, the chimera seems like the perfect fighter. The freedom fighter is usually a lot cheaper, which is why the only fighter I own is still the marine 498 version, as I don’t fight with knives. If I did, the chimera would outdo the marine raider(sp10) unless you happen to be a giant. At least on paper...

I'm leaning toward the Chimera. I'm a traditional khukuri guy, so many of the knives most would consider large are pretty average compared to what I am used to:D The Raider has gotten well deserved glowing reviews. I've got that one in my radar too.

The FF is still on my short list as an impulse buy, but I think a Chimera of some flavor would make me happier.

It's funny. Even though I am not a knife fighter (or a fighter of any type as I'm a pretty passive kind of guy), my most often carried Ontario is the M-3. Fantastically built knife, especially at the price.
