Any opinions, experience and recommendations on a small EDC knife?

It seems like my Spyderco Kiwi 3 fits all of the requirements. It is very small and light, non-locking with a 2.5" blade. The steel is 8cr13mov which is comparable to aus-8. Something tells me you'd probably like a somewhat larger locking knife though, like the Dragonfly.

I'm usually drawn more towards locking blades...but I picked up a Spyderco UKPK and absolutely love it. I have no fear that the blade will close on me, as I use my knife properly, and not for anything it wasn't designed to do.

That said, I also have a Chill, and I love it. A bit of rust seems to have developed on the blade from carry, so I want to deal with that before I rotate it back into my EDC...but it's a good knife regardless.

Yes, this is definitely in the target area of what I am looking for. Thanks for pointing this out! I will look at this in detail!!

I see from web sites that there is a G-10 inlay, but what is the rest of the handle made of?

Where in N. Europe are you from? I spend time in Denmark and your photo reminded me of our friend's deck we lounged on north of Copenhagen.

The handle is made of "aircraft aluminium" it´s very light but strong. Bladesteel is 154 CM. It´s very well built and has got the smoothest Axis lock I´ve seen.
I´m from Sweden (Stockholm), so the light should be quite the same as in Denmark :-)

Here´s a nice review (not by me).

I hope it works for you. I have the bigger brother, and i love it. very nice flipper, gives nice gimping on the back when open.

Yes, I go the big brother, as well. I really like the moving flipper. Neat idea! I initially thought that both NRG models were the same size and I was surprised by the size of the NRG 2 when i opened the package. But, I certainly don't regret it, as it is now happily in the car as a backup to my EDC. Very nice knife. I am anxious to see how the little brother works out.
