Any opinions on Dr martens?

I had a pair of them lasted forever and very very comfortable. Also Mythbusters did a show proving that steel toed boots won't chop your toes off
 
Still wearing mine after 8 or 9 years - a few lace changes in between. English Policemen wear them on the beat . Nuff said
 
i'm TOUGH on shoes, and have now basically worn out 2 pars of them in something like 8 years, the first pair was the sole, it split horizontally and would let water in when you stepped in something wet

the second pair are steel toes and the toe has started to come loose and move around, not exactly comfortable

both had to have stitching around the heel repaired once or twice

i replaced them with a pair of Keen Brooklyn Mids, possibly the most comfortable shoe i have worn
 
Excellent shoes and worth every cent you spend on them. Sturdy and reliable -- hard to wear out to be honest. Just keep them polished and they'll last you years
