Any Opinions on Opinel Knives?

I actually mentioned it in my above post. Tap the butt of the handle firmly against a table top and the blade will open enough for you to pinch it open. The French call it "le coup du savoyard."
 
There is simply no better bang for your buck then Opinel knives (Carbon steel). I have carried one in my pocket for over 20 years and it has never let me down (though I have let it down!). I have many more expensive custom / production folders but just can't seem to move away from Opinel for actual carry.

My favorite, which i have not seen mentioned here is that they are completely non offensive as far as knives go which is a huge plus in todays world.

I also recommend the pocket saw they produce. That little thing is a monster!
 
I used them and they are great but,oposite from popular opinion,stainless is way better IME.
