As a southpaw who owns a lot of knives, I love my lefty knives. Of all of my knives, the ones that find there way into my pocket the most are my LH Sebenzas and LH Emersons. While I agree with the statement that an ambidextrous knife if very easy for a southpaw to use, and that dual thumb studs are easy.........the shear ease at which I can open and close my left handed Sebenza with its frame lock puts it on the fast track into my pocket for every day carry. The very fact that I can easily open and close it with one hand counts when I absolutely need to operate that knife with one hand.
A large study was done a couple of years ago that compared longevity and "handedness". What was found was that left handed people statisically lived several years less than our right handed brethern. One of the postulated conclusions for this fact was that lefties, living in a right handed world, had a greater chance of suffering accidental death than right handed persons, that is living/using/operating equipment in a world designed for right handed people. As a lefty, living in this right world, the times that I have cut...scratched...and otherwise gotten "boo-boos" from using equipment that was not designed for my handedness, I can attest to the fact that living in a right world is perilous. Anytime that I can use a piece of equipment designed for my handedness.....I count my blessings. I raise my voice in praise for left handed knives and their makers.
