Any plans for a G-10 Lum?

I am not usually a tanto fan, but I'll have to admit this one intrigues me. Any plans for a G-10 version? Or maybe Micarta?

Thank you for the quick response Sal. I may have to save my pennies for a Lum.

The FIRST ad. for the Lum both pictured and specified G-10 scales.
In fact, you still see it advertized everywhere pictured in G-10.
Gofigure?
I lost interest in this knife when I learned it was coming out in titanium.
I'd snap up one in G-10 instantly if they became available.
The current Lum just doesn't do it for me.

I agree Bill. I like the looks of the knife but the titanium just doesn't do it for me either. G-10 or micarta, even in a color other than black would be more to my liking. I still may get one for my Spyderco collection, but it wont be a user.

I third the motion...I love Bob Lums' work and even own some of his custom work, but the titanium handles on the Spyderco doesn't appeal to me as much as G-10 or micarta. There is a store a few blocks from my house that has one in stock and I walk by the store just to look at it, but I can't bring myself to buy it. If it were in G-10 or micarta, I would've bought the moment I saw it. However I must say the knife is still very attractive!

The Lum Tanto has been a project from the beginning. The G10 version didn't do what we wanted it to do. The Titanium piece is still refining. Latest change is titanium liner and coarser bead blasting on the titanium scales. It's the little "custom" things that really make this piece elegant, like the "Hamaguri" grind on the tip.

We'll play more with the Chinese Folder. A piece that I believe will, ultimately require a lite weight FRN version.

The Tanto blade shape IMO has more "collector" value that "user" value. This directs that the Lum Tanto be of "collector quality". You will find few custom pieces to equal the quality now and as we continue to refine, there will be fewer still. And none to compare with the quality at that price.

WOOHOOO! You da MAN, Sal! That's what I wanted to hear, hehehe.

Now that we're clear on that, I still want one! When will teh SFO have some? And I'm happy with the Ti, so dang sick of G-10.

Well, consider this another vote for, "If it was in G10 like the original pictures I'd have bought one already." But then, Sal's gonna give me one when I win the 12k posts contest anyway

Hmm, now I'm thinking of beadblasted green canvas micarta scales over dual steel liners, 5/32" 440V, and a rolling lock -- sort of a Starmate for the tanto crowd...
