Any plans for a linerless Endura and Delica?

Sorry if its been discussed already.

There's a Salt 2 now. Which is basically the Delica with a soft H1 steel.
I would love to have the good old plane jane Delica with VG10 or BD1 steel. Or something even better. But without the liners. Same goes to Endura.

Any plans for that?

There will probably be PE Salt 1's and Pacific Salts with LC200N, which aren't the steels you mentioned, but should still be close to what you want. I still like PE H1, for the record, but I get what you're saying. Don't forget, if you want Spyderedge though, H1 is the way to go, and you can get those now.

like they did to the
Spyderco C41GPFGR5 Native 5 Folding Knife 2.95" S90V Satin Plain Blade, Forest Green G10 Handles,

But with peel ply instead of being smooth

The last I heard, there were no plans to release the Delica and Endure in the new style handles. Trust me, I bug Sal about it whenever I can.

FWIW I'd totally be down for a linerless D4 too.
As is, I "connect the holes" in the liners (making sure to leave the one for the back spacer "pin". By "connect" I mean cut out the metal between. It'll take the weight down to 2.2oz, which is better than the 2.5oz they list as being new IMO.

As I understand it, the D4 blade is a drop-in fit into the new Salt2 handle (the Salt2's list at 2.1 ounces, which is what my Chaparral FRN lightweight weighed new). Shame to potentially have to (spend so much) buy two knives, just to get what numerous folks are asking for... Especially considering, all the parts and pieces seem to all already be there.

Again, I'd be down for one (which means two of course). I wouldn't necessarily turn my nose up at VG-10, but I do very much prefer the ZDP-189 over it. Very, very much prefer it. Or if we were just getting all crazy, I very, very much like the M390 as it came on those sexy, and very excellent red handled PM2s.... Most Excellent job on those Spyderco!

Something Interesting: A quick look at the specs on a distributors web site shows the regular 'old' "plain jane" FRN FFG D4 in VG-10 or ZDP-189 weighing 2.5oz, BUT - the yellow and green Zome D4 with CPM-S30V lists as 2.31oz, as does the Pink/Purple Zome VG-10 D4. It seems like something is not adding up... How does that happen? If anyone knows, do please tell.

So, Linerless D4 - Yes Please -
and,
Why does the yellow/green Zome S30V D4 and the pink/purple Zome VG-10 D4 have a lighter listed weight than the rest of the FFG VG-10/ZDP-189 FRN D4s?

u.w.

Well, its a good news about LC200N but one of the reasons I want this set up is FFG of D4. So right now we just have to buy two knives (D4 and the Salt2) to make this happen.

My guess is the LC200N will be FFG. When they come out though is anyone's guess.

I saw this thread and had to laugh. I guess I've been around too long, I remember when people were whining about handle flex and clamouring for steel liners in the FRN models. I can't even guess how many times I've seen people asking for G-10 and liners in the Salt series. Now here we are with steel liners in the D4 and E4, and people want them without.

Well, I wasn’t on the forum in the whining era ;)...but FWIW in some ways I prefer my old school (linerless) D1 to my D4.

I’m surprised at how solid the Pacific Salt is for such a big knife. I would have thought I’d prefer liners if I didn’t try a larger FRN Spyderco without.

Not sure why liners are perceived as better if a linerless handle is solid....

The reason I ask for linerless G10.

Cold Steel Broken Skull is linerless.
Why can't the Delica/Endura be too.

Excuse the Russian. But it gives you the idea.

Personally, I prefer the D4/E4 over the liner-less D3/E3 and earlier models. I find the 4's feel a bit more sturdy around the pivot area when exerting heavier cutting pressure during certain chores than the liner-less models do.

Sal is testing an Endura Salt/Pacific Salt with LC200N right now, from what I read over on the other forum. That should make everyone happy. I hope they offer it in both yellow and black.

Seems some of you guys are missing the part about wanting "linerless G10"

Not linerless FRN

I've carried an Endura of one version or another since 92 and I prefer liners. I like the E4 just the way it is.
