Any plans for a linerless Endura and Delica?

Why effe with something that rocks as is?

Saying that seems to somewhat imply that all the previous iterations of the Endura, and Delica (pre- "4"), and the various linerless 'Salt' models, don't, or didn't, rock... Which would be very much false.
All those knives did, and do indeed rock.

For sure there are strong enough feelings on both sides (liners/linerless), and for sure each knows their reasons are important and valid to them. I have no doubts, and wouldn't argue it. I wouldn't ever knock the D4 or E4.. They are great knives. I own multiple, and definitely use them. That said, I would PERSONALLY prefer them linerless. That is my own personal preference. Some others feel the same way, and then others don't of course, and disagree. There is indeed room for all.

Weight & cost savings are a couple of potential gains no?
Do any of the 'Salt' models get used for things that their nested skeletonized steel liner bretheren/sisteren do? I'm betting they definitely do. We hear praise a'plenty about them - as well we should. They rock (without liners even...)

A potential (and maybe easy and simple?) work around would be to somehow offer the linerless frn scales for sale on their own. That way those who want/wanted a linerless Delica could do so. All my Delica 4's (four of them) would be linerless just that fast, if that were an option. Why not let us pay for what is already there, and what we're asking for? Without having to buy the rest of the knife as some people are already doing... AND I could/would still have my original nested skeletonized steel liners handles too?! -win-win-

Simply one persons (my) thoughts and opinion is all. Potential solutions, not just complaining or whining as some have made mention of. Certainly not intended to offend, so hopefully not taken that way.

Endura or Delica Salt/Pacific Salt with LC200N would be satisfactory for me and won't hurt felings of liners addict. I hope Sal will make it possible.

Hi Uxo,
I do not think the market is large enough to support a linerless G-10 Endura and Delica. We would still need to add steel inserts for clip screws or use a bolt through clip screw. Added to the fact that we already have FRN versions with liners that are working well for thousands of customers. You could probably get one of our licensed custom makers to make one for you, albeit cost would be high.

We make linerless models in the case of the Salts to avoid the additional cost of a nitrogen steel as a liner. We do it with the D'Fly, Ladybug and Manbug because they are small knives.

Uncle Willie,

The tooling cost for making new handles is quite expensive, especially in Seki. A high cost low volume accessory does not seem to be a good business idea.

Uncle Willie, pay no attention to the "whining" comment. Your opinion is as valid as anyone's, and I'm sure most of us, almost all, didn't think you were "whining".

By the way, I am super excited about a future FFG LC200N Pacific Salt, and it seems very possible.

I like linerless carbon fiber. Though the liners in the framelock/cf/s90v military are nice because it's minimal, but prefer none if possible. Do enjoy that aspect of the peel ply liner lock carbonfiber military.

Gonna try and get the carbonfiber fluted native 5... As it has no liners.

Would love a pm2 in carbonfiber without liners or liners like the framelock milli

Mr. Glesser one question about LC200N Salts ( LC200N Pacific Salt). It will happen this year? Because so far its the only knife I wannna buy. Salt2 with that steel in FFG would be a dream too.

Do you mean the Caribbean models? They're showing up as coming soon in my local store.

Hey Sal,
It's an honor. I'm a very long time fan, carrier, and user of your knives. I don't doubt what you say; and for a fact, you know WAY more about all it all than I do.
That said, I was in no way referring to anyone making new handles. Not at all. I was making reference to the handles that are already being made. Tooling, etc all done. Those being the Salt 2 handles. They fit the Delica 4, are linerless, and are being made already. If a dealer would/could carry, and offer just the Salt 2 handles (and backspacer? if required). Everything I was referring to is, I think, already there - just not sold that way. A possible solution for those of us who'd prefer a linerless Delica? Or maybe not. You most definitely being the SME on it.

No. I mean Endura and Delica Salt linerless handles with LC200N FFG blade.
It doesn't hurt to ask. This time last year we were talking about the Lum Tanto and a sprint run of that. I put my 2 cents in for HAP40/SUS4XX or similiar laminate steel so it would have a distinct appearance of a Japanese blade and next month Blade HQ will have a run for sale. I"m sure lots of other folks made that same request too so that run made sense.

Same for the wharncliffe Delica, someone really showed why that was a desirable blade and there was lots of murmuring in the background showing the demand & then after a couple years they went into production.

Sal already has a prototype of the Pac Salt in LC200N, and he already said it will be produced. Probably in the Pac Salt handle first, then the Endura 4 handle, or possibly with some overlap. He didn't say when it will be available, as he usually can't say that specifically.

Hi Daybd,

The pacific could possibly be out this year, but it would be late. The Pacific 2 has not begun tooling.

Hey Danke,

While we listen to our customer's requests, you should also know that many of our distributors also listen to our customer's requests and often respond with exclusives.

Thanks Sal for sure it's nice to see stuff like that happen; & more in the public eye than some other things used in daily life.

Thank you, sir ! Generally I try to avoid "saving money to buy a knife", but this time I'll do so. One thing is good about getting older - sometimes you become smarter :D I'll definitelly buy LC200N FFG blade in a Salt handle.
