Any plans for DIY belt grinders available?

Probably the easiest and most cost effective plans out there can be bought from Tracy Mickley for $25. There are some other full plans available, but I think they'll all require more time and money in materials.

Another option which I tried is "driveshaft belt grinder"....google that and look and see if its doable for you...I leaned the top wheel out over the drive wheel so I can look down the platen from the side to watch the grind...works for me!

One thing that gets overlooked on a lot of diy grinders is a cheap source for idler wheels. Several successful cheap (under $200) designs that I have seen use long board wheels. These can be had on amazon in a set of four, with bearings for less than $20. I understand that this may not be the most high quality method, but most of us cant justify spending 2k on a grinder...
