Any Plans for more 'Waved' Spydercos?

I have a waved Endura and I just love it. But it doesn't have the feel that the Paramilitary has. I would love to see the wave feature added to some of the knives made in Golden like the military.

Thanks for making such a great knife.

Yep, I especially love Spyderco's implementation of the Wave. If I want a knife and there is a Waved version, I would undoubtedly choose it.

No plans at this time for additional "Emerson Openers" (Wave is a registered trademark for Leatherman).

Thank you Sal, I learned something new today. I'm not sure how much it costs to purchase the patent from Emerson, or if the "Emerson Openers" were profitable, but I know I really like having a Spyderco blade and would love to see some of the higher end knives with the Emerson feature.

:thumbup:Waved Civilian!!!

That would be awesome. Then Spyderco would have the two ultimate SD knives: the Civilian, specializing in slashing, and the P'Kal, specializing in stabbing/ripping/jabbing.

Yep, I never understood why a Waved Civilian was never standardized as it is one of the few Spydercos for SD (along with the P'Kal, Chinook, Matriarch, and Yojimbo IIRC).
On a bit of a tangent, I've always wanted to see a Waved Civilian with a black coated blade, PE, with "coyote brown" handle scales, and a little stronger tip. I'd buy two and they'd market well to the servicemen:thumbup:...then again, I'm not entirely impartial:p

I really like the idea of a Civilian with the Emerson open feature. The PE one with the coyote brown G-10 sounds awesome as well. So it looks like Sal could sell at least 4 'waved' Civilians.

If you're looking for a "waved" Civilian send an email to STR.

I had him do one for me and it turned out pretty awesome :D

really. Sorry but I am fairly new to the forums and I have heard of STR, how do I contact him?

Do you happen to have any pictures of your waved Civilian?

That is my understanding, but you'd best check with Ernie for his position.

Guess it's the "Opening system formerly known as Wave."

I wonder what Emerson would charge to personally open my knives for me. Then it really would be the "Emerson Opener."
