I've been trolling the forum a bit and learning everything I can about Busse, and the products they've released, but I haven't said much about myself. I've decided that I like it here, so I figured I'd tell you folks a little bit about myself

So, by way of introduction...

My name is Chris. I live in Austin Texas. I'm an insurance agent working on my masters in Psychology.

I'm also a little crazy (just ask my wife). My name BePrepared, is not an indication that I was a boyscout. Rather it's a personal motto. I an a "prepper" of sorts.

I don't have a bunker or a particularly large arsenal, but i do plan for, and prepare for the worst. I have a 3 month food supply stored in BOB's and escape plans to get out of the city and to my "Safe Spot".

I drink WAY too much Tequila on occasions, and just the right amount the rest of the time.

I also love messikan food, and all things sharp.

Hi :)

Welcome to Swinedom.

You'll find a few of us that like to think ahead in these parts. You'll find even more that are willing to drink with ya.

First busse will be a Gladius identical to this one

along with that, i'm getting a matching AK47 and TGLB

Welcome to the madness. Nice introduction and a beast of a knife to start with

I'm an epileptic controlling his seizures with medication that can't be stocked up on in large amounts and I rely quite heavily on a working society. As such, I am not much of a prepper. Prepared for maybe a week or two without power, but not for unrealistic doomsday scenarios. But with that said, if you're over-prepared then you're definitely still prepared! So good on you for that. :)

I'm still planning my first Busse as well. I lurk here and drool in secret.

Interesting choice of blades, given the topic of this post. I would think something more user friendly / utilitarian would fit your cause more appropriately...but you're the psychologist :D Maybe your wife's right?

Welcome to the trough. Oh the humanity...a Prepper from Austin. This place just keeps getting weirder

LOL. I already come equipped with a host of other sharp things. I've got skinners, choppers, machetes, folders etc to play with.

The busse's are going to be my people choppers (right along with my rifle and .40). I don't spekt to need em, but i'd rather have what i don't need, than need what i don't have.

And for the sake of argument, let's go ahead and assume that my wife is right. She's a woman, so i know she already does...

Haha you sound like a buddy of mine. Welcome to the insanity, do yourself a favor after you get that gladius and shred all your bank/credit cards. This is sound financial advice... but I promise you will not take it. :D

Welcome BePrepared, when the Scrapyard forum gets back online, check out the outdoor section. It has some great preparedness threads.

Another Texan is always welcome!!! :D :D :D

We need all the help we can get. :p

Same as you, been lurking for awhile but "new" to the forum. I also am prepping. Have for a couple of years, it becomes a way of life. I've even ordered from beprepared.com, isn't that ironic?
Just ordered by first Busse, Team Gemini LB and a Swamp Rat Rodent 6. I like your choice of the Gladius.

IMHO gladius makes a great SHTF blade.... twice the sharp so you don't have to worry about ruining your slicing edge by chopping with it

also (having not handled it) it looks to be an EXCELLENT close quarters lopper for those pesky human shaped vermin.

You'll fit right in!
