Any Preppers in the Audience: An Introduction

welcome to the busse family! i too do a bit of prepping here and there ;)

btw anyone know of any good survival novels? been looking for a good read :D

Everyone should start with Alas, Babylon, but One Second After, Earth Abides, and anything by British author John Christopher are also good.

Interesting thread. One of my jobs at the hospital is Medical Director for Emergency Preparedness. People seem to get concerned when my Operations Director and I start talking about scenarios!

good to see other people with some common sense........and I think the models you are interested in are perfect. The gladius will work on humans too but it was actually designed for zombies. FYI.

It's funny how many things a 15" double edged INFI razorblade with a needle point can kill...

The Gladius is a great first Busse, just remember to be safe when you are using it... double edges means one bad bounce toward you will be devastating. You have good taste. ;)

Also a big fan of that shadow pic  Too bad there's that post behind you in the light.

I'm still a piglet, just got my first INFI off the exchange (still waiting for its arrival), a Hog Muk.

I'm not a "prepper" but lots of folks seem to think I am. My wife found us a nice bit of wooded land some 30 miles outside of Madison, WI where we've got ponds and rivers to fish, wild turkey & white tails to hunt, our own chickens for eggs and meat, a vegetable garden, apple trees, grape vines and blackberry bushes, a deep well and septic system, and we're friends with our neighbors who include dairy farmers, ranchers, grain millers, etc. We're still on the grid for phone, internet, & electricity, and we have a propane tank (convertible to NG) but we minimize our use of all that and heat mostly with wood off our land put into our cook-stove (PE Alderlea T4). My wife is a trained home-birth midwife and herbalist and is homeschooling our children.
Are we expecting the apocalypse in the near future? No... but from the outside looking in, it almost appears like we've already "bugged out" ;) Country life, man. There's surviving, and then there's living!

I've never considered it "prepping" I think of more as living smart and being prepared. But yes, and of coarse you've come to the right place to get the blade for your go bag.. the hard part is picking which ones :)

"KEEP AUSTIN WEIRD",,

Well,, it looks like you are trying to do your part :D,,Great first choice,,, Welcome to the madness
