I got to thinking (can you smell the smoke), if you delve into real Christianity, there is alot of beautiful ancient-rooted rituals involved with many different things. I was wondering if there was a set down ritual for blessing of weapons? Maybe something was developed during the crusades, or some other heated period in the history of the religion.
 
I don't know about swords but there are many things that people have forgot the meaning of. For example ,if you remember my front door has an X on the bottom .Not just a decoration , it's a maltese cross there to keep away evil spirits !!
You might try to look for saints involved with swords.
 
Not any rite to speak of. however the blessing of the warrior has many refrences. Psalms 144, Psalms 91 Isaiah 54:17 and Ephesians 6:10-20 are just a few...and of particular intrest to us forge guys...Isaiah 54:16.
I've been wanting to forge my pastor a large persian knife / short sword with several verses etched in hebrew along the blade. I've alway's thought that would be righteous.

That would be sweet! If I see some guy walking around with a knife like that, I'll have to let you know he carries it!
