Mark me as another Spyderco lover that is disappointed.
The Delica has the blade mounted in a variety of positions. Sometimes the blade and handle are perfectly aligned, other times the blade hangs as much as 2mm lower. Often the lock bar in the open position looks like it doesn't snap down all the way to line up with the handle.
I still took a slight risk and bought a Salt, which was fortunately VERY well made. I swear the blade is more solid when open than my other Delica variations. And I will still buy more cool Spyderco knives with quality blades as they come along. Maybe I shouldn't say that though, as that gives them no incentive to improve.
Maybe sales will drop if people pass on the imperfect units. I wonder if sending one back to Spyderco will result in a perfect unit being returned, or if Spyderco thinks this kind of variation is "OK."
